Special Olympics

A handful of us from ESS volunteered for the Classic ski races at the Special Olympics Invitational this past week. Although only a half day it was an incredible experience. As in any athletic competition- some athletes were really impressed with their finish and others were incredibly disappointed. All and all, the competitors spirits were high and we definitely had a few good laughs! We had smiles on our faces and in our hearts and we can't wait to volunteer next year. Stayed tuned for 2009 Special Olympic World Games in Idaho!

Ski Race

Another weekend and more goofy outfits!
This past weekend Willie and I did a skate ski 'race'. It was the first annual held by our friends, Sarah and Eric who did a great job organizing. I didn't do the whole race (of course) and Willie skied his butt off. It was a fun time for everyone. We registered as Ignacio and Elvis Resko.

You will really enjoy this picture!

Reitz Family Visit

We had a great visit with Julie, Jason, Berkley and Charlotte.
It was so fun having company and we hope they will visit again!
We had dinner at N&B Resko's on Friday night and then off to snowshoe at Galena on Saturday.

Winter Wonderland?

Can you find the Element? Our mailbox? Our HOUSE?

Willie is looking forward to spring=no shoveling.

Boulder Mountain Tour

Willie completed the BMT this past weekend under 2 hours. The conditions weren't great and he did not train but he was happy he did it! The energy out there is incredible and it sure is an accomplishment for all the racers! The race is a 32-kilometer couse from Galena Lodge to the Sawtooth National Recreation Headquarters north of Ketchum. The course is gently rolling and has an elevation drop of 1,100 feet. Nancy, Bill and I cheered him along a couple of times on the course and at the finish. We had our very own Willie Fan Club!
