Firewood at Petit

Hikes up Baldy, firewood, food, a boat ride and friends...what more could we ask for on a Saturday? We had quite the group working on clearing some firewood around the cabin at Petit Lake. We rocked, a full bed of a pick-up and a trailer full of wood in less than 2 hours-go team! Besides our trouble with bees we all enjoyed playing lumberjack for the afternoon.

WILLIE IN SENSORY OVERLOAD

SUPER FANS
Willie and I headed to Seattle where I was once again treated to awesome weather. I think I might quit while I'm ahead. After an adventurous bus ride from the airport we landed in downtown. Willie was a little overwhelmed with all the people so we did as much sightseeing as possible before we got the heck out of the city. We met Michael, David and Rach at the Locks and checked out the fish ladder. Pretty cool watching those big a*s salmon trying to swim against the current. Friday night we spent time with Angela and Michael and then met up with the reunion group (Ian, Sarah, David, Rachel) where Willie and I played a little 'not my town' on the dance floor. Ahh....good times. Saturday we headed for coffee and the farmer's market in Edmonds before the big game. We watched the Washington Huskies get spanked by the Oklahoma Sooners but the tailgating and hanging out on the boats at half time was a blast! Sunday we relaxed at the Wahl's before heading home. Thanks Rachel, Michael, Ian and Sarah for once again showing us a good time in your city. We'll be back...

Camping

Kelley trying to stay warm...

Last camping for the summer. I'm not saying we won't try to go this fall but we wanted to make sure we went one more night just in case. We had a gorgeous day at Little Alturas- the girls hung out while the guys went on a mountain bike ride. Willie and I tricked out the Element, it's getting more and more comfortable to sleep in. Just ask June and Cash!

Nip and Tuck

We met the Sundby and Wahl family for a camp dinner one night at Nip and Tuck in Stanley. There is a steep hill to drive up (I get out of the car and walk-of course) but once the car makes it, the view of the Sawtooths is great. We headed back to Hailey with our heat on. Sarah & Co. woke to a little snow. I'm not ready for winter!

Sunflowers and fruit trees

I successfully grew some sunflowers in the yard this summer and our fruit trees did really well! Our fruit trees are: apples, apricots, pears, cherries and plums. The apricots are my favorite and we only have one tree but it did so well this year, I couldn't keep up with it!

Mustangs

I thoroughly enjoyed having the mustangs around town this summer...and I don't mean the car! I wanted to share these pictures of a round-up we saw on the way up North one day. I made Willie pull over to take some pictures and we were 'acting like tourists' as he pointed out. Being an Idaho native and all he sometimes forgets that this stuff is pretty cool- tourist or local!

Wagon Days Parade

This year was the 50th anniversary of Wagon Days. Here is a little blurb about the parade...

The Big Hitch Parade is the highlight of the Wagon Days (Labor Day weekend) celebration. It has grown into the largest non-motorized parade in the West, displaying more than a hundred museum-quality buggies, carriages, tacks, carts, buckboards, and wagons of every variety in existence today. The Wagon Days Big Hitch, historic wagons used to haul ore from the area, are powered by an authentic 20-draft mule jerkline.
Adding spice to the parade is a lively assortment of authentically costumed individuals, numerous breeds of horses, from Arabs to Morgans to Pasos. Plus, professional and scholastic marching bands from around the state and the intermountain west.

Willie and I ride our bikes up every year and head on over to the Graffs party for Bloody Mary's and Margaritas! I'll tell ya-those are the best in the West! My personal favorite in the parade was the Budweiser dalmation-just like the Super Bowl commercial!
