Jackson, Wyoming

Our weekend in Jackson was great. It is so nice to get out of town-go on a road trip and check out new scenery. When we first arrive, we checked out the start of the Stage Stop sled dog race. The race goes from JH through CO into Park City.

We did some skiing, sightseeing, eating and drinking. We even filmed a short film-ok, you had to be there for that one! It was so nice to spend time with the Sundbys- Sarah I know you are reading, we love you guys!

Happy Birthday Lau (February 1st)

I still remember the day you were born, Papa picked me up at Saturday morning basketball and let me know Mom was in the hospital with a new baby sister. I was slightly annoyed that I would no longer be the youngest child but that didn't last very long after I got to know you! Dream big and enjoy 23. Before you know it you will be 30 with wrinkles and gray hair! We love you and miss you.

June and Blue

June's friend Blue is here for a visit this week and they have played nonstop. In fact, June tries to hide from him! She has 2 years on him which really means 14 dog years so you can understand why she can't hang. Blue has destroyed every dog toy we have ever owned in the last 4 days. If you have an old dog toy, stuffed animal or anything that is safe for dogs- send it June's way. With all these 'friends' she has coming over, she's left with nothing. It reminds me of when my friend came over and I lost my Cabbage Patch kid wedding dress that my Kathleen made. I know, I know...I'm still thinking about that after about 20+ years!
Did I mention they look alike-especially when you see just a mass of black body rolling around?
BTW- When you start blogging a paragraph about your dog, does that mean you should have kids? Don't judge me.

January

Wow January is almost over! This is usually not my favorite month but I have no complaints. For the past three weekends I have been skate skiing up north on the Boulder trail. 1st week completed ~17 km, 2nd week ~14 km and last weekend ~31 km! I really enjoyed my long skis and I think I am finally getting into skate skiing. I'm actually looking forward to going tomorrow! I was thinking of doing the Boulder Mountain tour which is a 31km race. I did it last weekend so I know it is possible. However, the entry fee costs more than I'm willing to spend on a trail I have a paid pass for! Of course the best part of my last 3 weekends was eating lunch at Galena afterwards. :)
Work has been keeping me busy, gone to knitting group and book club (I love those girls). I've read a book, organized my house (a little), taken the dogs on many walks and I've seen some good movies. I'm quite satisfied w/ 2009 thus far and have some pretty fun trips planned over the next few months!

Bench Yurt

We had the great experience of hiking to bench yurt a couple of weeks ago with some friends.
Although it was 6 miles into the yurt and -29 we managed to have a really good time! It was my first time in the backcountry in the winter, first time on AT gear and I felt it. With Sarah's help and some hand/feet warmers I made it there and back with a frozen smile (see below)! Willie of course had an awesome time touring.

Dinner at the Resko's house to end a nice Christmas day.

Happy 2009!

I'm not really sure I have taken a breath in the last couple of days. Life has been a little busy for me lately. I will update the blog this weekend and share pictures of Christmas and some other highlights from the last couple of weeks. As you may know I'm the queen of to-do lists and right now my week is too busy to make one! Thinking of everyone and excited about a new year. Stand by.
